The debut 2016 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a lifted cranberry, raspberry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet that conveys plenty of volume and vigor. It might not be the most sophisticated Charmes-Chambertin but it feels generous and pure. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of vibrant red berry fruit, structured and maybe more masculine that its peers, though there is a lovely tingle of spice that lingers on the aftertaste that keeps you coming back.
